Prof. Jie Zhang received his Ph.D. in Geophysics from MIT in 1997. He previously worked for MIT, Shell, USGS, and Blackhawk Geometrics.  He founded GeoTomo LLC in the US in 1998, and he is now serving as Chairman of the Company Board.  He returned to China in 2010 and became a Professor and Director of Geophysical Research Institute at USTC.  His research interests include earthquake seismology and exploration seismology.  He is a Board Director of the Society of Exploration Geophysics (SEG) Global, Chairman of SEG China Advisory Committee, and a member of MIT Visiting Committee.
