吴涛，男，出生于1982年12月，2009年7月于中国科学技术大学合肥微尺度国家实验室获博士学位。2009年10月至2012年10月在法国国家强磁场实验室/法国国家科学中心（LNCMI-G/CNRS）任博士后研究员。现任中国科学技术大学教授。曾获得中科院院长优秀奖（2009）、中科院优秀博士论文奖（2010）以及全国优秀博士论文提名奖(2011)。目前主要从事凝聚态物理的核磁共振研究以及极端条件下（强磁场、极低温、高压等）核磁共振技术的发展，研究方向包括高温超导以及强关联电子体系材料。近年来，在法国国家强磁场实验室以及美国国家强磁场实验室的平台下，开展了一系列强磁场下高温超导体的核磁共振研究，首次在YBa2Cu3O6+x超导体中观察到磁场诱导的电荷有序相，并对多有序态竞争进行了深入探索。近年来，电荷有序态已被多种实验手段所验证，它的发现为理解高温铜氧化合物超导体带来了全新的思路。针对电荷有序态的研究已经成为当下高温铜氧化合物超导体研究的前沿领域。吴涛还在新型高温超导材料探索以及相关物性研究方面也取得一些重要成果：参与发现一种高温铁基超导材料和单晶合成，并开展了大量低温输运和磁性研究。目前共发表SCI论文47篇，包括Nature 3篇，Nature Communications 1篇, Physical Review Letters 8篇，累计引用3000多次。
