  秦禄昌,1963年生,现任美国北卡来罗纳大学物理系副教授。1978年入中国科技大学少年班,1982年获理学士学位,1990年于美国西北大学材料系获工学硕士学位,1994年于麻省理工学院获科学博士学位。先后在澳大利亚CSIRO科学与技术研究所、澳大利亚格林非斯理工学院、英国布里斯托尔大学、日本NEC公司、美国阿贡国家实验室、美国IBM公司、日本科学技术振兴团纳米管状物研究组从事纳米材料及电子显微学研究工作,2002年受聘于北卡大学物理系,获副教授(终身)职位。共发表学术论文60余篇,专著2本。  

  主要学术成就:发现0.4纳米最小碳纳米管并定量确定其成像条件;发展了精确实用的电子衍射方法来测定纳米管的螺旋角;澄清了激光法合成单一螺旋角[10,10]碳纳米管的误识.开发多种气相沉积法生产碳纳米管及制作纳米探针;发展了用于分析非晶体材料的短程及中程有序的电子衍射方法;首次测定硫化锌晶体的层错能;分析了该类晶体中位错,层错的多种组态及掺杂元素对晶体发光性能的关联;建立了石英及多种类晶体在高能中子,电子,离子辐照下形成蜕晶质的过程与机制,首次确认了电子辐照下金刚石晶体转变为碳纳米球的条件,机制与结构特性;首次高压极限条件下测定了碳纳米管与二硼化镁超导体的压缩率。
