Research Field: Condensed Matter Experiment

Research Focus: transition metal oxides, thin film growth and characterization, interactions between multi degrees of freedom 

Professor Zhu Hong joined Department of Physics, USTC in July 1990. He has participated in the research on colossal magnetoresistance and related physical properties in mixed-valent manganites for years. Particularly, he has obtained many results and become experienced in layered perovskite manganese oxides. Professor Zhu’s group is currently interested in the strain effects and phase separation in wide-bandwidth manganite films, and the multiferroic effect in transition metal oxides. Questions of interest relate to the novel properties of the films and materials that are increasingly important for microelectronics applications.
