Research Profile

Feng Zhihua, male, Han nationality, born in October 1964, a native of Bozhou, Anhui Province, is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Department of Precision Machinery and Precision Instrumentation, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Feng started his college education in 1981 at the Department of Precision Machinery and Precision Instrumentation of USTC, where he obtained his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees successively. Feng joined the faculty of USTC in 1990.
Prof. Feng carries out applied research on smart materials and structures such as piezoelectric ceramic materials, magnetostrictive materials, dielectric elastomer materials and carbon nanotube materials, etc., whose long-term goal is to develop flexible actuators which can be applied to bionic machines. Prof. Feng has authored a number of research papers published in such journals as Applied Physics Letters, Review of Scientific Instruments, Sensors and Actuators A, Smart Materials and Structures, Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, etc.
