Research Profile

Li Simin, professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the Department of Mathematic,USTC. Li was admitted to the Department of Mathematics at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1986, and received his bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1991. After graduation, Li went to Tokyo, Japan for advanced studies at the Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences of University of Tokyo from 1992 to 1997, earning the degrees of both Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) successively. Li has been working in the Department of Mathematics of USTC since April1997, and he is currently a professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the Department of Mathematics. He had also undertaken his postdoctoral research at the University of Tokyo from August 2001 to August 2003. Professor Li is mainly engaged in the study of dynamical systems. His current research interests are concerned with the iteration of smooth interval maps, especially with the dynamical properties related to Cantor attractors.
