Research Profile

Dr. Li Zhenyu is a professor at Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the Microscale, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Li received his doctoral degree from the Department of Chemical Physics of USTC in 1999. He had previously worked as a postdoc at the University of Maryland (USA) and the University of California at Irvine (USA) in succession. In 2006, Li’s doctoral dissertation entered the list of “Top 100 National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations of China.” In 2008, Li was selected into the list of recipients of the “New Century Excellent Talents Program” by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.

Dr. Li’s main research area covers computational physics and chemistry. His research interest comprises theoretical design and computational characterization of functional materials, transport properties of molecular devices, simulation of the electronic spectra of protein molecules, density functional theory (DFT) and its numerical methods, as well as simulation of kinetic processes and chemical reaction. Li has published more than 80 papers on peer reviewed journals so far, which have received a total of citations for more than 1400 times with an h-index of 19, according to the Science Citation Index (SCI) database.
