Xiaobing Zheng , male, born in 1969, Ph.D, Professor. He received a B.S. in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 1990. In 1994 and 1998 he obtained M.S. and Ph.D. both from Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM), Chinese Academy of Sciences. During 2000 - 2001, Dr. Zheng worked in University of California at Santa Barbara as a visiting scientist. He is currently the PI of projects from Natural Science foundation, 863, National Space Science, and Chinese Academy of Sciences.Dr. Zheng is active in research and development of advanced method and instrumentation for optical radiometry, calibration of satellite sensors, optical remote sensing and ocean optics. His group is leading in China the field of new generation calibration method for optical satellite remote sensing, detector-based standard transfer and application of parametric down-conversion in precise radiometry. Currently, he is supervising 4 master students and 6 doctoral students. Students under his supervision are strongly encouraged to improve their talents in action, expression, planning and coordination, as well as the capability to independently design and develop complex optoelectronic systems. Dr. Zheng published about 40 academic papers and was granted about 8 patents since 1995.
