QIN Hong, born in 1968, graduated with BSc from Peking University in 1990 and got his PhD from Princeton University in 1998. In 2009, he was selected into the National Thousand Talents Pprogram. Now, he works as professor and doctoral supervisor in Department of Modern Physics, USTC.
He does research on such fields as magnetic confinement plasma theory, algorithm and numerical simulation, intense particle beams, heavy ion inertial confinement fusion, and high energy density physics. He has published 85 articles in international first-class journals and a book, and has 24 invited presentations at international conferences.
