Research Profile

Prof. DUAN Changkui has been engaged in theoretical research and first-principles calculation of the energy state structure and transfer of rare earth ions. In recent years, he has also carried out theoretical studies in rare earth ion doped crystals and other solid electron and nuclear spin systems for quantum information theory and quantum computing. 110 research papers published by him have been included in SCI with more than 800 citations and an H index of 18. He was the recipient of the Chongqing Municipal Natural Science Award (first class) in 2007. Currently he is heading two projects-- "theoretic research of spin-based quantum computing" (under Program 973) and "Matrix-rare earth ion energy transfer theory and first-principles calculations" (funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China).
