Research Profile

LU Chaoyang, born in December 1982 in Dongyang, Zhejiang Province, received his PhD from the University of Cambridge and is professor of USTC.  He was selected into the first batch of the "Thousand Young Talents Program" in 2011 and selected into the outstanding youth project by National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2012. At present Dr. Lu heads a research project funded by the National Major Scientific Research Program and a special sub-project of quantum pilot  supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.  Dr. Lu has carried out in-depth research on many key issues of multi-photon entanglement, optical quantum computing and quantum dot based semiconductor field electron spin manipulation, and achieved ​​a series of highly influential experimental results. As a main author, Dr. Lu has carried out, for the first time in the world, six-photon entanglement, eight-photon entanglement and ten-bit ultra-photon entanglement; and first achieved the Shor algorithm with light qubit。
