Research Profile

    Wang Anmin, doctor, professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), specializes in theoretical physics. Prof. Wang’s research interests cover quantum computation and quantum information, quantum theory and its applications, as well as quantum field theory and particle physics. In 1995, supported by the British Royal Society Fellowship, Wang conducted his postdoctoral study and research at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Glasgow University, UK. In December 1998, he worked as a senior visiting scholar in the Theoretical Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory, U.S.. In August 1999 he worked as a senior visiting scholar in the Quantum Computation Center at Oxford University, UK. Currently he is undertaking research as a project member in the Quantum Communication and Quantum Computation Project supported by the “973” Program. In recent years Prof. Wang has had a total of more than 100 papers published in domestic and international academic journals indexed by SCI including Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B, Euro. Phys. Lett., Chem. Phys. Lett., EuroPhys. J. D, J. Phys. A, Phys. Lett. A, Optics Communi., Nuovo Cimento A, Chinese Phys. Lett.,Chinese Phys., Comuni. Theor. Phys., etc.. He has presided over five projects (one as subproject host) supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and participated as a leading member in a number of projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has also undertaken one subproject under the Knowledge Innovation Program of CAS and one subproject supported by the “973” Program. He has also been in charge of one project supported by the Natural Science Foundation of Anhui Province and completed it with excellent awards. Prof. Wang has graduated one post-doctoral student, eleven doctoral students and six master students. Currently, a research team of quantum theory led by Prof. Wang Anmin has been basically established and relevant studies have had a preliminary basis.
