Research Profile

SHAO Xiang got his PhD. from Peking university in 2006.
His research interests include:
(1) Research on the molecular reaction of solid surface and liquid interface and various surface properties and processes mainly by scanning probe microscope as the main technical means, but also in combination with various other spectroscopy characterizations.
(2) The development and applications of scanning probe microscopy techniques.
The most outstanding characteristic of scanning probe microscope is to detect surface local atomic structure and electronic properties. It is the real effective means of associating surface structure and properties. Besides it is the most valid tools that people study surface physics and chemistry on the atomic level. As the long-term user and beneficiary of this technology, we will continue to make efforts in the application and development of the technology.
Recruitment information
Welcome to our group of 'Surface reaction and SPM'! Our researches are mostly focused in the field of surface physical chemistry, by applying the scanning probe microscopy technique in combination with optical and electronic spectroscopic means as well as theoretical means. Therefore usually we require a background in at least one of following discipplines: physical chemistry, physics, chemistry, or materials. If you feel interest in our work, please notice that our group is open for applications for Ph.D. or postdoc positions. And please feel free to contact us.
