LIU Dan got his PhD. from University of Science & Technology of China in 2007. Cell is the basic unit of life, and cell’s mitosis is the fundamental process of the occurrence and development of life. During mitosis, the most important molecular event is when chromosomes can be correctly captured by the polar microtubules, and equally separated into two daughter cells in the late stage .The improper Capture and splitting process can cause the generation of non aneuploid cancer cells. In order to guarantee the stability of chromosome distribution, cells regulate and control the process of mitotic kinase capturing microtubules to stabilize error connecting microtubules as well as correct connection of microtubule.
The laboratory research focuses on using Single molecule fluorescence probe which is designed on the basis of fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)to monitor intracellular kinase to phosphorylase tone in real time.
