Xiang Gao (Gao Xiang), Male, born in 1965, Ph.D, Professor. Director of Tokamak Division, Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Main interests are plasma physics, study of Tokamak experiments, plasma diagnostics, FIR laser system and optics. The research currently emphasis focus on synergy study of LHW and IBW heating, high beta plasma physics and MHD behaviors, advance fueling technology and plasma diagnostics on the HT-7 superconducting tokamak, and the development of new FIR laser diagnostics in the EAST device.
Mr.Gao graduated from Southeast University (Nanjing Institute of Technology) at Nanjing in 1985, he studied and received his Ph.D. degree at the Graduate School of ASIPP in 1997. Dr.Gao worked at Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute as visiting scholar from 1996 to 1997, and as JAERI research fellow from 2000 to 2002. Dr.Gao has wide academic cooperation with institutes and universities both home and abroad, and he has visited Korea, Japan, USA, Italy, Germany and so on for cooperation and international conferences since 1992. As project head and coordinator, Dr.Gao carried out several projects from National Nature Science Foundation of China and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
