Guosheng Xu,Male,Date of birth: Oct. 27, 1977.He is a Professor and PhD supervisor in the institute of plasma physics, Chinese academy of science (ASIPP). He is the task force leader of edge plasma physics in the EAST (Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak) project, which is a National Mage-project of Science Research of China. His research is mainly in the field of tokamak experiments and plasma physics, particularly on plasma turbulence and transport physics. He is one who got the support from the top-notch talent support plan of the CPC's Organization Department. He is the project's chief scientist of the MOST (Ministry of Science & Technology) National Magnetic Confinement Fusion Science Program of China (Project funds 36330,000 Yuan). He is the one who got the outstanding doctor thesis award of the Chinese academy of science, the Chinese academy of sciences dean special award, the Cai ShiDong plasma physics award, the UK royal society post-doctoral fellowship. He has ever been selected by the Sino-German Science Center as an excellent doctoral student to attend the 54th Lindau Meeting of Nobel Laureates. From 2008 to 2010, he stayed in UK, the Culham Science Center, JET site (JET is currently the largest tokamak device in the world) for post-doctoral research. He has four papers published in the top scientific journal - “Physical Review Letters”. He has more than 60 SCI publications. The highest citation for a single paper is more than 60. He currently has a research team of more than 10 young scientists and students. He has successively presided over six fund projects, including one project from the MOST, two projects from the NNSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China), one project from the Chinese academy of science. In addition, as a main member he has ever participated in a series project of the NNSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China).
