Wenhai Song, male, born in 1970, PhD, professor of Key Laboratory of Materials Physics, Institute of Solid State Physics (ISSP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received the B.E. degree in chemical physics from the East China University of Chemical Technology in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree in condensed matter physics from ISSP, CAS in 1997. In 2003 and 2005, he was a short-term visiting scholar at the University of Kentucky, USA and the University of Liverpool, UK, respectively. His interests are high temperature superconductors (HTSC), colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) and multiferroic materials, focusing on the fundamental physics, e.g. structure, electrical and magnetic properties and the strong interplay among the lattice, charge, orbital and spin degrees of freedom.
