Research Profile

  Shaolong Wan, born in January 1958, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He received his Doctorate in Theoretical Physics from USTC and conducted his postdoctoral study and research in theoretical physics at the University of Oxford. Prof. Wan has either studied or worked as a visiting fellow successively in the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (Italy), ¡°Galileo¡± Department of Physics at the University of Padova (Italy), Sub-Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford (UK), Department of Physics at Stanford University (USA), Department of Physics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Department of Physics at the Hong Kong Baptist University, etc. His research is primarily focused on theoretical physics including quantum field theory, particle theory and quantum many particle theory. He has presided over projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has had a total of over 100 research papers published in academic journals indexed by SCI such as Phys. Rev. A£¬B£¬C£¬D£¬E£¬Letters. Some of his research findings have been cited by the world-renowned International Cooperation Group on Particle Physics, CLEO Collaboration, to serve as theoretical predictions and theoretical model for contrastive purposes. Besides, part of his scientific payoffs has been quoted for multiple times by Review of Particle Physics published by the internationally prestigious Particle Data Group (http://pdg.lbl.gov/).
