Dr. Chenbo Xie, the professor and the director of the lidar technology division in Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (AIOFM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received his B.E. in Precision Instrument from Hefei University of Technology in 1999, and obtained his M.S. and Ph.D from AIOFM in 2002 and 2005, respectively. From 2006 to 2008, he conducted postdoctoral researches in the National Institute for Environmental Studies, Japan.
His research includes laser remote sensing of the atmosphere and lidar technology. He participated in several projects supported by National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), National Key Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), National Nature Science Foundation of China, China Special Fund for Meteorological Research in the Public Interest, Ministry of science and technology basic work of special key projects, Key Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences etc. As a principal investigator, he developed over ten lidar systems such as the mobile Raman-Mie scattering lidar, the meteorological lidar, the scanning infrared lidar, high spectral resolution lidar based on iodine absorption filter, the aerosol lidar in a serious of IV, the airborne aerosol lidar, and the combined lidar system for aerosol, water vapor and temperature measurement. He published over 30 papers in journals of Appl. Opt., JOSK, GRL ACTA Optica Sinica, Infrared and Laser Engineering, Spectroscopy and Spectral Analysis, and Infrared and Laser Engineering etc. He wrote a book as the participator, obtained 2 patents of invention and 2 industrial standards about lidar technology. His current research interests in the field of laser remote sensing, lidar technology and lidar data processing.
