Research Profile

Ph.D, Professor. Associate Director of Laboratory of High Magnetic Field, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Director of Laboratory of Functional Materials of Institute of Solid State Physics. Dr. Sun worked at International Center of Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy (1991), Taiwan Tsinghua University (1998),University of Kentucky (2003), USA and Tsukuba Magnet Laboratory, Japan (2010) as visiting scholarDr.Sun’s research direction is the study of structure and physical properties of transitional metal functional compounds including high temperature superconductors and spintronics materials. He has published over 200 papers in SCI journals. These papers have been cited over thousand times. He cooperated with other authors and wrote two chapters for two international books. He has undertaken and finished projects including “973”, “863” and National Natural Science Foundation of China etc. He was awarded third grade prize of natural science of CAS in 1996 (second),  first grade prize of natural science of Anhui Province in 2007 (first) and second grade prize of nation natural science in 2009 (second) . Up to 2012. 29 Ph.D students and 13 M.S. students have graduated under his instruction. Students for physics in particular for solid state physics and low temperature physics are welcomed.
