Songtao Wu (Wu Songtao), Male, born in 1962, Ph.D, Professor. Ever been Deputy Director of the Institute of Plasma Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP) and Director of the Device Engineering Division of ASIPP. As a senior visiting scholar, worked and studied at D.V. Efremov Scientific Research Institute of Electrophisical Apparatus, St. Petersburg, Russia, Max-Planck-Institut für Plasma-Physik, Munich, Garching, Germany and National Institute for Fusion Sciences, Japan. Being in charge of the engineering design of the HT-7U device and its R & D Program, as a Chief Engineer of the EAST superconducting Tokamak machine which is a National Key Project. Also, ever been in charge of the engineering R&D project of the HTc cable for 30 kV/2 kA electric power, as the project manager at ASIPP. Having been in charge of the preliminary engineering design of "Low Aspect Ratio Tokamak ETG" and "EPEUIS Plasma Experiment Device" for Fusion Research Center, University of Texas of US and cooperation project of "New Style Plasma Experiment Device HELIMAK" between China and US has been completed successfully. From 1995, more than 60 papers have been published. The main research fields are technology and application research on large-scale superconducting facilities, the R&D of electrophysical facility technology. From 2008 working in ITER Organization (IO), has been the leader of Vacuum Vessel Product Team, Responsible Officer of Tokamak Integration, Head of IO-DA (Domestic Agency) Coordination, now is Deputy Head of Tokamak Engineering Department.
