Research Profile

    ZHENG Jian, born in June 1970, is now a professor of physics at Department of Modern Physics, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He got his bachelor degree from USTC in 1992 and doctor degree from USTC in 1998. Since June 1998, he has been a faculty member of USTC. And he was promoted to a full professor in 2004. 

Professor Zheng is engaged in the experimental and theoretical researches on the physics in relevant to laser-plasma interactions, such as stimulated Raman scattering, stimulated Brillouin scattering, Thomson scattering measurements of laser-produced plasmas, non-local electron energy transport, properties of warm dense plasmas, etc. He has made significant achievements in the Thomson scattering theory and experiment as well as in coherent radiation from relativistic hot electrons generated in ultraintense laser pulse interaction with matters. Over 80 peer-reviewed papers are published.
