Research Profile

    Wang Bing, male, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He has entered the list of candidates supported by the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars of China. Prof. Wang’s research interest is in condensed matter physics. He has been dedicated to research on the structure and properties of metal/semiconductor multilayer films, film physics, and low-dimensional physics. He has made contributions to the development of relevant experimental techniques and nano-junction chemical preparation methods, and for the first time reported the quantum capacitance effects of nano-junctions. He has developed a new method of the amorphization of nano-materials, and discovered the suppression of quantum confinement effects by amorphization. He has also constructed the negative differential-resistance device based on C60 molecules and Pd nanocrystal quantum dots. Prof. Wang has had a total of more than 70 research papers published in journals indexed by SCI, including one in Nature, one in Science, one in PNAS, five in Phys.Rev.Lett., and five in J. Am. Chem. Soc..
