Research Profile

Dr. Sun Baogen, research fellow, Ph.D. supervisor, mainly researches on beam diagnostics for accelerator. 
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Countermeasure, Missile Institute, Air Force Engineering University, 1982; Master’s degree in Communication and Electronic Information System, USTC, 1989; Ph.D. in Nuclear Technology and Application, USTC, 2001. 
Since July 1989, he joined the work of beam measurement for the project “Hefei Synchrotron Radiation Accelerator and Beam Line Experimental Stations.” In 1994 he undertook the project “Bunch Length Measurement of Storage Ring and Bunch Elongation Effects”, a sub-project of “Synchrotron Radiation Application and Devices Transformation and Perfection” which is a major research project of CAS Eighth Five-year Plan. In 1997, he took charge of the project “Upgrade of Beam Measurement System for Hefei Light Source”, sub-project of “Phase II National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory” funded by National Plan Commission (current National Development and Reform Commission). In 2001, he took charge of the project “Development of Beam Position Measurement System for Linac and Transport Line ”, key research project of Construction of High Level University, and took part in the project “Experimental Monitoring and Theoretical Study of Instability of HLS Multi-bunch” supported by National Natural Science Funds. In 2002, he undertook the CAS Innovation Project “Development of Synchrotron Radiation Measurement System”, 211 Project “Study on Lateral Instability of Hefei Storage Ring Beam and Inhibition”, CAS Innovation project “Measurement of Beam Profile and Emittance of NSRL Linac by Using Transition Radiation Method” and “Development of Machine Study Beam line”. In 2003, he undertook the project “Research of Beam-based  Alignment Technology by AC K-modulation” supported by National Natural Science Funds. In 2005, he took part in the project “Research on Coupled Bunch Instability and Key Technology in By-bunch Feedback System”supported by National Natural Science Funds. In 2006, he undertook the project“Research of Some Key Technologies in Photon Beam Position Monitors” supported by National Natural Science Funds and the project “Beam Measurement System in High Brightness Injector” of 985 Project. In 2007, he undertook the CAS Innovation Project Phase III “Development of Linac and Transport Line Beam Position Measurement System”. In 2009, he undertook the project “Research of new cavity beam position monitor and Signal Processing Technology”supported by National Natural Science Funds.In 2012,he undertook the project “Research of diagnostic technology of fast bunch transverse size and its applications in storage ring”supported by National Natural Science Funds.
He has published over 200 papers on national and international journals, among which over 130 papers have been retrieved by SCI and EI (over 70 papers are written by him as first author or corresponding author), and wrote a book in collaboration with others.
