Research Profile

Liu Falin, male, born in Xintai, Hebei Province in July 1963, a native of Zanhuang County, Hebei Province, is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Department of Electronic Engineering and Information Science, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He obtained his B.E. degree from Tsinghua University and his M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from USTC. Prof. Liu is mainly engaged in scientific research, teaching, and technical development in the field of electromagnetic field and microwave technology, microwave communication, etc. Prof. Liu had been a visiting scholar at the Tohoku University of Japan. In 2001, Prof. Liu entered the list of winners of the Outstanding Young Teacher Subsidy Scheme of the Ministry of Education. Prof. Liu has presided over or participated in more than a dozen research projects to date supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (namely, the “863” Program), and the Funds of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for Key Topics in Innovation Engineering. He has won many an academic award including the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Prof. Liu has authored more than 80 research papers, of which over 30 were indexed by SCI/EI. Besides, Prof. Liu is also in charge of the instruction of the undergraduate course of “Non-linear Electronic Circuits” and the graduate-level course of “Millimeter-Wave Communication Technology”.
