Research Profile

    Zhu Xiaodong, professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the Department of Modern Physics, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). His research area lies in low temperature plasma physics and application. Specifically, he is engaged in the study on physics and technology of plasma source, plasma-material interaction and plasma diagnostics. He has presided over or participated in a number of research projects supported by the State Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (namely, the “863” Program), and by other ministerial and provincial-level programs. Professor Zhu has conducted a series of researches on plasma source, mechanism of plasma chemical vapor deposition, and ion beam-material interactions. He has won one second prize of the provincial level natural science award. Professor Zhu has previously worked as a visiting fellow at the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, Japan, the University of Paris VI, France, and the Shizuoka University, Japan. He has published a total of more than 60 papers in domestic and international journals including Appl. Phys. Lett., Phys. Rev. B, Phys. Plasmas, J. Chem. Phys. Etc.
