Research Profile

    Qiu Ling, female, born in July 1963, a native of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Ph.D. in Communication and Information Systems, is now a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Department of Electronic Engineering and Information Science, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). From September 1994 to July 1997, Qiu studied at USTC and obtained her M.S. degree. From February 1997 to December 1999, she continued her study at USTC and got a Ph.D. after graduation. From September 1997 to March 1998, she undertook research and study at the Department of Information Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong, as a research assistant. Since December 1999, she has been working at the Department of Electronic Engineering and Information Science of USTC, while doubling as Deputy Director of the Personal Communication Network & Spread Spectrum Laboratory of USTC.
Prof. Qiu’s research interests are spread-spectrum communication technology and communications systems, with her research focus lying in efficient acquisition of spread spectrum signal, multi-user detection and interference suppression, as well as transmit power control and radio resource management. Her research interests also include broadband and space-time wireless communication methods, including OFDM, space-time coding and decoding methods, MIMO-OFDM channel estimation and adaptive equalization, transceiver in multi-user MIMO (MIMO-OFDM) wireless communication systems, multi-user scheduling algorithm, as well as cross-layer protocol and cross-layer optimization.
