Research Profile

Lu Qingyou (email: qxl@ustc.edu.cn) received B.S. (with High Honors) in Physics in 1994 and Ph.D. (with University Fellowship) in Condensed Matter Physics in 2000, both from University of Texas at Austin, U.S.A. From 2000 - 2005, he worked at Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, USA, developing 90 nm very large scale integrated (VLSI) circuit technology. In 2004, as the Project Leader, he developed the first 72 megabits QDR SRAM in the world. In 2005, he became a full professor at Hefei National Lab for Physical Sciences at the Microscale, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). In the same year, he became the Winner of Education Ministry's New Century Excellent Talents Supporting Plan. In 2008, he became a double-hired professor at High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). In 2010, he was awarded the title of “Core Talents for Key Technologies at Present” by CAS.
Prof. Lu's research interests are in the constructions of extreme condition scanning tunneling microscopes (STM), atomic force microscopes (AFM), magnetic force microscopes (MFM), and their applications in strongly correlated electron systems (high temperature superconductors, magnetic materials, low dimension materials…), nano materials, nano-devices, molecular biology, etc. 
As the first author or corresponding author, Prof. Lu has published papers on Science, Nature Communications, Nano Research, Carbon, etc. He also holds 23 invention patents of China.
