Research Profile

Gong Liuzhu, professor and Ph.D. supervisor, born in October 15, 1970, a native of Henan Province, is currently working at the Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at the Microscale and the Department of Chemistry, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Professor Gong’s research interest lies in 1) organo- and transition metal-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis; 2) total synthesis of natural products; and 3) chiral macromolecules.

09/1993-06/1996: M.Sc, Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu, China.
09/1996-06/1998: PhD candidate, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.
06/1998-06/2000: Joint PhD candidate, the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA. Gong received his PhD in July 2000 from the Institute of Chemistry at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
07/2000-11/2000: Assistant Professor, Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
11/2001-12/2005: Professor, Chengdu Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
