Research Profile

    Wang Yonggang, graduated from Dept. of Modern Physics of USTC majoring in Nuclear Electronics in 1987, obtained master’s degree in Nuclear Physics in 1990 and Ph.D. in Dec.1997. Wang mainly does research on nuclear detectors and electronics aspects of nuclear signal processing. From 1996 to 1998, he participated in the USTC international cooperative project with VUB-Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and developed VUB-PET high-performance data acquisition and processing system. He worked at VUB-Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 1999 for further research on development of new PET readout electronics based on APD array detector. In 2000 he worked at IMEC Microelectronics Research Center, Belgium, doing research on ASIC circuit design in the aspect of wireless communication. Wang is currently taking charge of the project “PET detector neural network positioning method” supported by national funds and the project “preparation of BESIII brightness monitoring system (electronics)” supported by National Major Science Project. He has been doing research for years on low-noise circuit design, high-speed signal acquisition and system integration, and successfully applied such technologies as weak signal detection readout, DSP technology, FPGA, to scientific instruments and military equipment.
